The California Council on Problem Gambling is a non-profit organization, founded in 1986, dedicated to assisting problem gamblers and their families by promoting awareness, education, research, prevention and treatment for problem gambling. CCPG is one of 35 state affiliates of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). CCPG is funded by voluntary contributions from business and other interested parties, and does not take a position for or against legalized gambling.

According to a national survey, problem gambling affects approximately 2-3% of the total population. That's about 2 million people in the state of California. Problem Gambling is defined as participation in any form of gambling to the extent that it creates any negative consequences to the gambler, their family, place of employment, or community. This includes patterns of gambling and related behaviors (usually financial issues) that compromise, disrupt, or damage personal, family, educational and/or vocational interests.

CCPG currently provides:

  • Outpatient Treatment Facilities
  • Inpatient Treatment Facilities
